My interest in GIS was first sparked during a research project with graduates working with ornithological data. After graduating, I decided to pursue a certificate in GIS, and I am constantly learning new things about the field during my current position as a GIS analyst.
After taking my certiciate classes at San Diego Mesa College, I have the confidence to use new tools and build detailed, thoughtful maps. I learned about map balance and design, remote sensing and data processing, and even geodatabases and automation scripting. I now have the ability to preform most common GIS tasks, as well as many uncommon ones.
